When will the rain clear and the warmer weather actually arrive in Ukraine this week?
If you’re trying to figure out whether to plan around rain or sun this week, the two available forecasts don’t fully match on timing — but they do agree on when things warm up.
📅 The rain: two slightly different pictures
Ukrainska Pravda’s report, citing the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UGMC), pointed to rain and thunderstorms on September 24, including in Kyiv, with conditions clearing up from September 25-26.
RBC-Ukraine, citing Ukrhydrometeocenter’s Oksana Sklyar, describes it differently: no significant precipitation for most of the country over the next few days, with rain returning September 27-28 specifically in eastern, Dnipropetrovsk, and southern regions, driven by a front moving in from the Black Sea.
In short: if you’re in the east, Dnipropetrovsk region, or the south, it’s worth keeping an eye on the 27th and 28th even as the rest of the country dries out.
Where the warm-up actually starts
Both sources agree on this part: warmer air arrives from Saturday, September 26-27. Daytime highs are expected to reach +16…+21°C across most of the country, climbing further to as much as +23°C by October 1-4. Nights stay cooler, around +4…+11°C, with the Carpathians lagging behind at 0…+5°C overnight.
Not an “Indian summer” — just normal for late September
Despite how the warm stretch might feel, forecasters are explicit that this isn’t an unusual warming event. A range of +15…+23°C is within normal seasonal norms for this time of year, not a late-season anomaly.
⚠️ What could still change
The advisory outlook through October 4 currently expects no further rain and no additional temperature increases beyond that +23°C ceiling. But Ukrhydrometeocenter itself notes this forecast will be refined as those dates get closer, so it’s worth checking an updated forecast again in a few days rather than treating this as final.
