Taylor McGregor’s move from Marquee to a full-time job at ESPN isn’t a sudden jump to a new employer — and she’s given her own reasons for making the change now.

- Nine years of daily baseball coverage. McGregor pointed to nearly a decade of the day-in, day-out grind that comes with covering baseball as a reason she’s ready for something different.
- More personal time and a steadier schedule. She said she wants a schedule that isn’t built around baseball’s daily calendar.
- Career growth at ESPN. The move also comes with expanded responsibilities — her new role is expected to grow into NBA, college basketball, and SportsCenter coverage on top of her existing college football work.
It builds on an existing relationship
McGregor has worked as a college football sideline reporter for ESPN since 2019, before Marquee Sports Network even launched in 2020. So this is less a departure to somewhere new and more an existing ESPN relationship becoming full-time.
What isn’t spelled out
There’s no exact ESPN start date or contract detail in the reporting so far, and no word on who might take over her Marquee duties. Those specifics are worth checking for in official statements from either network as they come out.
