Ryan Cohen’s Latest GME Buy: The Price Per Share, and How It Compares to Sept. 10

Two elderly men read newspapers inside a cafe in Bangkok, capturing a moment of daily life.

Ryan Cohen bought more GameStop stock again this week, and the price he paid says something on its own — especially next to what he paid earlier this month.

💰 What Ryan Cohen paid this time

On Monday, Cohen bought 1,150,680 shares of GameStop Class A common stock for roughly $26.4 million. The filing shows a weighted average price of $22.9375 per share, with individual purchases ranging from $22.76 to $23.02.

How that compares to his Sept. 10 purchase

Cohen’s previous purchase, on Sept. 10, was for 1,000,000 shares at a price near $20.38. Monday’s weighted average price was over 12% higher than that Sept. 10 price. In other words, Cohen paid noticeably more per share this time than he did less than two weeks earlier.

That same week in September, GameStop directors Lawrence Cheng, James Grube, and Alain Attal also bought shares, though the amounts they paid aren’t part of this filing.

Where this leaves his total stake

After Monday’s purchase, Cohen’s direct holdings stand at 40,498,522 shares — about 9% of GameStop at its current $10.2 billion market cap. The purchase was not made under a Rule 10b5-1 pre-scheduled trading plan.

GME stock itself closed up 0.53% at $22.76 on Monday and rose about 3% in postmarket trading.

Insider filings like this can be updated or corrected after the fact, so it’s worth checking the latest SEC filing directly if you’re tracking the exact numbers.
