What should readers do if a Sunshine Act Meetings notice opens to a Federal Register access request page?
If a Sunshine Act Meetings notice opens to a Federal Register access request page, the provided source material does not show the meeting notice itself.
What the page is telling you
The Federal Register access notices say requests were flagged as potentially automated. They also say a human user may need to complete a CAPTCHA before access is granted.
So if you are a regular reader, the next step is to follow the on-page access process and complete the CAPTCHA if prompted.
What is not confirmed
The supplied material does not include the substance of any Sunshine Act meeting notice. That means it does not confirm the meeting agency, date, agenda, location, or access instructions.
For those details, check the Federal Register notice again after access is granted, or use the official source page when it becomes available to you.
How can programmatic users retrieve Sunshine Act meeting notices from Federal Register sources?
For programmatic users, the Federal Register access notices point away from repeated page requests and toward official developer API documentation.
The confirmed route for programmatic access
The provided context says both Federal Register sources display access request notices. Those notices say requests may have been flagged as automated and direct programmatic users to developer API documentation for:
- FederalRegister.gov
- eCFR.gov
That is the only confirmed access guidance in the supplied material.
What the source does not provide
The context does not include API endpoint names, request examples, rate limits, or the substance of the Sunshine Act meeting notices.
So the practical next step is to use the official developer documentation linked or referenced by the access notice, then retrieve the meeting notice through the supported access method.
