When was Chain Reaction set to return in the Crime Fiction Lover roundup?
Crime Fiction Lover’s October 9, 2026 roundup described Chain Reaction as the 31st Jack Reacher book, written by Lee Child and Andrew Child.
The reported return date
The roundup said Chain Reaction was set to return on October 20.
That is the only return date confirmed in the provided context. The source context does not add a release time, format details, preorder information, or regional availability.
Where the date appeared
The October 20 date came from Crime Fiction Lover’s October 9, 2026 roundup of new crime books. The same roundup connected the book to Jack Reacher and described the setup involving General Susan Turner contacting Reacher from inside the Pentagon.
For the most current publication details, check the source or the book’s official listing, since schedules can change after a roundup is published.
What is unusual about Summertown, Colorado in Chain Reaction?
Summertown, Colorado stands out in Chain Reaction because the place is described as tiny but packed with infrastructure.
What is unusual about Summertown
In the Crime Fiction Lover plot summary, Summertown has:
- four residents
- five large data centers
- two solar farms
That contrast is the unusual part: the town has very few people, but it contains several major facilities.
How it fits into the setup
The summary says Reacher travels to Summertown after General Susan Turner contacts him from inside the Pentagon. Turner reaches him after a team member dies during a failed covert mission.
The source also says someone is watching Reacher as he moves through the situation, but it does not identify that person in the provided context.
What is confirmed
The available context confirms the setting details, the number of residents, the data centers, and the solar farms. It does not explain why Summertown has that mix, so any deeper explanation would go beyond what the roundup confirms.
