Is Lamar Jackson playing against the Falcons on Sunday night?
Lamar Jackson is not playing against the Falcons on Sunday night, according to the provided NFL.com report.
The direct answer
Jackson has been ruled out for the Ravens’ Sunday night game against Atlanta. Head coach Jesse Minter said Tyler Huntley will start for Baltimore in Jackson’s place.
What Ravens fans should expect
The confirmed quarterback update is simple:
| Ravens quarterback | Status for Falcons game |
|---|---|
| Lamar Jackson | Ruled out |
| Tyler Huntley | Starting in his place |
The context does not include any further roster move, return date, or snap-count plan.
Check before kickoff
This is a game-status update, so it is worth checking the Ravens or NFL.com again before the Sunday night game in case a later announcement adds more detail.
What injury is keeping Lamar Jackson out of the Falcons game?
Lamar Jackson is out because of an ankle injury. The reports cited in the context say he is still dealing with that injury ahead of the Falcons game.
What happened
Jackson hurt his ankle during the Ravens’ Week 4 win over the Titans. NFL.com reports that he has now been ruled out for the Sunday night game against Atlanta.
NBC Sports also says Jackson will miss the Falcons game while dealing with the ankle injury.
What the reports do not say
The available context does not give a medical diagnosis, recovery timetable, or exact severity. It also does not say when Jackson will return.
What is confirmed is narrower: ankle injury, suffered in Week 4, out against the Falcons.
Why Tyler Huntley is involved
Because Jackson is out, head coach Jesse Minter said Tyler Huntley will start for Baltimore. For the latest status beyond this game, follow the official team or league updates.
Is Lamar Jackson’s ankle injury expected to be long term?
The available reports do not describe Lamar Jackson’s ankle injury as long term. Ian Rapoport had reported that the injury was not expected to be long term, while also indicating that playing against Atlanta was unlikely.
What is known about the timeline
The confirmed timeline information is limited:
- Jackson hurt his ankle in the Ravens’ Week 4 win over the Titans.
- He has been ruled out for the Sunday night game against the Falcons.
- Ian Rapoport reported that the injury was not expected to be long term.
- The context does not provide a specific return game or recovery date.
What that means for the Falcons game

What remains unclear
The reports do not confirm when Jackson will play again. For the next step in his timeline, the most useful update will be the Ravens’ next official injury report or team announcement.
