Where can readers access Federal Register or eCFR material programmatically when a notice page blocks automated access?
If a Federal Register notice page blocks automated access, the confirmed guidance is to use official developer API documentation instead of scraping around the restriction.
The direct answer
The Federal Register access notice points users toward developer API documentation for:
- FederalRegister.gov
- eCFR.gov
That is the confirmed programmatic-access route in the provided context.
What the notice means
The Federal Register source material available here does not show the underlying notice text. It only shows an access restriction page connected to automated scraping controls.
So the practical takeaway is narrow: use the official API documentation for programmatic access, and do not treat the blocked page as the full source material.
What is not confirmed
The context does not provide API endpoints, authentication rules, rate limits, or sample requests. For those details, readers should check the official FederalRegister.gov and eCFR.gov developer materials directly.
